Manali to Nehru Kund

Your journey towards the Lahaul Valley begins with a scenic drive from Manali to Nehru Kund, located approximately 5 km from Manali on the Manali–Leh Highway.

Solang Valley to Dhundi

The journey continues from Solang Valley towards Dhundi, one of the most scenic stretches of the Manali–Leh Highway.

Located further uphill from Solang Valley, Dhundi is surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes, dense forests and snow-covered peaks during the winter months.

Dhundi to South Portal of Atal Tunnel

From Dhundi, continue your drive towards the South Portal of Atal Tunnel.

As the road climbs higher, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic, with towering mountain slopes and spectacular views of the Pir Panjal Range.

The South Portal marks the entrance to the Atal Tunnel, one of the most impressive engineering projects in the Himalayas. This is where the lush landscapes of the Kullu Valley gradually give way to the rugged terrain of the Lahaul region.

Enter the Atal Tunnel and experience one of the highlights of your journey.

The tunnel stretches approximately 9.02 km through the Pir Panjal Range and provides an all-weather connection between Manali and the Lahaul-Spiti region.

The drive through the tunnel takes you beneath the mountains and dramatically reduces the traditional journey over Rohtang Pass. The modern tunnel is equipped with advanced safety and ventilation systems, making it an important part of the Manali–Lahaul route.

As you emerge from the North Portal, the scenery changes dramatically, with the rugged high-altitude landscape of Lahaul opening before you.

North Portal of Atal Tunnel to Sissu

Continue towards Sissu, one of the most beautiful and popular destinations in the Lahaul Valley.

Also known as Khwaling, Sissu is situated at an altitude of approximately 3,120 meters and is surrounded by spectacular mountains, waterfalls and high-altitude landscapes.

Sissu Lake:

Sissu Lake is a picturesque high-altitude lake surrounded by magnificent Himalayan peaks.

Sissu Waterfall:
